Prepare a route plan
Share your route and expected check-ins with someone at home. Carry water, layers, a charged phone or other communication method and a first-aid kit.
Take altitude seriously
Learn the warning signs of altitude illness from a qualified clinician or guide. Stop ascending and seek help if symptoms worsen.
Use qualified support
Choose a registered agency or experienced local guide for unfamiliar routes, and follow current permit and safety advice from local authorities.
